One could make a case that the real national religion of American society is a blend of a veneer of "Christianity" (with Jesus's social justice message watered down to non-existence) and the values of capitalism, consumerism, and corporate interests.

It is so incredibly tacky! It is wrong at so many levels!
I agree with Mystical Seeker on this one - it's a spoof on the mixing of Christianity with the 'American Way' - which these days is consumerism.
I agree with both of you! I meant to say that it points out what is tacky and "wrong" about our culture.
